Sep. 1960

Established a new company Nippon Hardfacing Co., Ltd. under a business plan initiated by Yawata Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. (current Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation) and Yawata Welding Electrode Co., Ltd.(current Nippon Steel  & Sumikin Welding Co., Ltd.)with a view to launching a steel hardfacing business. (Capital 5 million yen: Kitakyusyu-city, Fukuoka Pref.)

Sep. 1961

Tobata Works (Kitakyushu-City, Fukuoka Pref.) started operation.

Mar.1968

Relocated head office to Tokyo.

Jun.1969

Nagoya Works (Tokai-City, Nagoya Pref.) started operation.

Sep. 1971

Oita Works(Oita-City, Oita Pref.) started operation.

Sep. 1972

Kimitsu Works (Kimitsu-City, Chiba Pref.) started operation.

Capital increased to 100 million yen.

Sep.1973

Changed the company name to “Nippon Steel Hardfacing Co., Ltd.”

Aug. 1981

Started thermal spraying business at Nagoya Works.

Capital increased to 200 million yen

Dec.1990

Thermal spraying business started at Tobata Works.

Apr. 1991

Capital increased to 410 million yen.

Sep.1991

Licensing of thermal spraying technologies to a local thermal spraying operator in North America.

(Inaugural year of Nippon Steel’s CGL business in North America.)

Jul. 1992

Thermal spraying business started at Kimitsu Works.

Jul. 1997

Licensing of thermal spraying technologies to a local operator in Brazil. (Inaugural year of Nippon Steel’s CGL business in South America. )

Oct.2012

Following the establishment of Nippon Steel & Sumikin Steel Corporation, changed the company name to “NIPPON STEEL & SUMIKIN HARDFACING Co., Ltd.”

Nov. 2012

Established “NIPPON STEEL & SUMIKIN HARDFACING Co., Ltd. (Thailand)” .

Apr.2019

Changed the company name to “NIPPON STEEL HARDFACING CORPORATION”
“NIPPON STEEL HARDFACING (THAILAND)Co., Ltd. ” .
